Journalists in Turkey can attend this investigative journalism training. The Media Research Association, in cooperation with the International Center for Journalists, has organized a training for Turkish journalists to learn investigative skills.
Following publication of “Women Journalists in Local Media Report” by Media Research Association, the researchers from MEDAR’s research team were joined by Coalition for Women in Journalism representative and were hosted by journalist Sibel Hürtaş in a TV program to discuss the findings of the report as well as potential solutions to the detected problems.
The Civil Society Exchange Partnership Program (CSEPP) is a multiplier program for civil society networks, umbrella organizations and established CSOs to adapt capacity building through mobility model Istanbul Bilgi University Center for Civil Society Studies and MitOst have been developing and working on since 2017.
The Civil Society Exchange Partnership Program seeks to strengthen the links and collaboration between Turkish and European civil society organisation. ALDA and MEDAR’s sub-granted project “TEAM4TEAM” focuses on active citizenship and digital literacy, and will involve through an open call for proposals many Turkish and European organisation working on these topics in order to create further partnerships.
The editorial independence of journalists has been weakening, and confidence in media has deteriorated around the world in recent years. Viewers and readers think that the media’s current structure keeps it from fulfilling the promise of objective — unbiased, truthful and factual — coverage, representing a range of views. The increase of misinformation has put mainstream media in jeopardy.
